I just peeped a BIG interview and in it he was talking about the idea that rappers should be in the game (not the rapping game in general, but the record selling game) to make money and that should be their only reason. Rappers still dictate what hip hop is. And more importantly, what is more hip-hop then hustlin white kids out of their money to buy your album; rappers aren’t being taken advantage of if they keeping they cheese up, and the smart rapper will know that keeping the white boy happy is very important, that’s the ultimate hustle.

i hear what you’re saying but have to disagree…hip.hop is a NOT a ‘huste’–but a CULTURE expressed thru music (dj), words (emcee/poet), movement (b.boyin), and visual art (graf kids/writers)…we have to quit looking @ it as solely a way to make money–a JOB is a way to make money–an art form is a way to express whats in your heart, mind, body, & soul…NOBODYs ‘job title’ is called ‘hip.hop’…some folks ‘job’ is being an artist–which means creating ART–NOT looking for ways to ‘hustle’ wht kids.

the reality is that wht folks will buy/collect/criticize ANY and EVERYthing that we as a ppl produce…they want to buy & wear the same sneakers/clothes that we wear AND they want to buy & listen to the same music that we listen to–regardless of whether the sneakers/clothes/music is ‘marketed’ towards them or not…in fact, i’d say that they really want what they feel that they’re NOT meant to have/hear/see…so why would anybody who considers him/herself an ‘artist’ ever feel the need to ‘cater’ to a wht audience when they are gonna buy/consume whatever it is that they create anyway?..what part of the ‘game’ is that?..it’s called not knowing what forces drive the marketplace that you’re operating in.

bottom line, i just wont fuck w/any so-called artist thats not producing real ART…thats whats missing in hip.hop…that what i feel that this site is about…thats why i’ve been fucking w/bx rap since ‘05.

lets keep the culture/dialogue/forum alive y’all.
