So my dudes Camp Lo is still on there twist….I gotta cop the album just for G.P….Just Cus they woulda still been in the game heavy if hip-hop hadn’t evolved into some bull**** that we are currently trying to rebuild…If you for some strange un-earthly reason are unfamiliar with this team…Peep thier vid over there in the vids section…..Or just simply read on…….

When she showed it to me I had to scan it and send it to my man L. I said to my self this is defiantly something I have not seen. Theres always some wise ass who refers to old skool hip hop as if it wasnt directed at a pop market. These people have such a high sanctimonous opnion of themselves and their relation to hip hop and will never give 50 his due…there is no point in arguing about it with these narrowed minded people because its futile. The point is this CURTIS JACKSON is a great rap song writer there are few better at simple creativity check it

      Wop ya Head
      Baltimore love thing
      I dont know officer
      If dead men could talk
      Gun Runner
      Corner Bodega
      Heat
      Many Men

original territory for most rappers except prob Nas.
…He said Cam was done and look at what happened, He said Game wasnt gonna be a superstar and is he wrong? game is a great rapper not a superstar rapper, if you dont believe me watch him live. RESPECT THE ARCHITECH.

^^^^^Great song writer my Ass, He’s Mediocre at BEST. Yeah, Hip Hop started out as Fun Dance music, but soon people started to grow out of that and wanted some intelluctual shit to listen to, story driven raps. Come on now, look at that poor list you gave us, almost all of them are about guns. when he gives us Something like: (That’s when He’ll get his Dues)

Nas – If I Ruled the World, One Mic, Rewind, Street Dreaming, Classic
Jay-Z – Never Change, Heart of the City, Song Cry, Moment of Clarity, Minority Report
Commen Sense – I Use To Love H.E.R.
Jadakiss – Why, We Gonna Make It, It Can Get Ugly, Problem Child, Sorry Miss Jackson
Eminem – Stan, Sing For The Moment, Lose Yourself, Till I Collapse
Styles P. – Fire & Pain, All My Life, Shine, The Old Ghost
Mos Def – Lions of Hip Hop, What’s Beef

Shit, I Know Some Will Say there’s Better Songs, But 50 has had the Bar Set Pretty High before him. I hope he knows that, he also has to give SOME emotion on his albums.

    • We Love Creative Hip Hop 4:09 am on April 30, 2007 Permalink | Reply

^^^^^^^^^before you bust a blood vessel read my comment again and realise that I used the term SIMPLE CREATIVITY, plus I said Great not the Greatest. Regarding the list you just gave me I disagree….Street Dreams and If I Ruled the world ????? Classic my Dick.
Kurtis Blow and Eurythmics Ripped, not sampled, Ripped.
Styles P is a BORING, yes I said it, good rapper thats why he aint paid. Eminem’s STAN aint shit without Dido sample. Mos Def,The Roots, Dead Pres, Slum Village and Common Sense are an aquired taste in hip hop that eventually bores you unles youre determined to adopt that particular genre as a form of social and political protest.
If intellectuality was the be all and end all of hip hop
people arent stupid, thats what would sell. What you rather watch at your leisure…Intellectual war movies like flag of our fathers or straight up violence like Saving Private Ryan. I aint impressed with phoney intellectualism like the kind Nas often tries to espouse…its hypocritical.
Like or not you know what your getting from 50 cent Guns Sex Drugs which translates into what NAS (sorry Escobar the drug lord of QB) ET AL and firm termed MONEY;POWER; RESPECT.

Woe is the day that a prominent leader in this culture is attempting to sensor one of the last true forms of expression. I understand that these words are typically devoid of artistry, but lest he forget that hip-hop is rooted in the fight against suppression and censorship. Shame on him.

We all have the freedom of speech but at the same time we should not neglect the fact that we have to be socially responsible. That is what the essence of hip hop is. Social responsibility, back in the day ‘old skool’ hip hop was a way to tell the story of the hood and the hood had bitches in it, so hip hop used bitches, the hood had ho’s in it, so hip hop used ho’s, and nigga as compared to nigger was a term of empowerment, an identification that the black people no longer belonged to the white man, that they no longer were slaves. Like Pac said, “niggers is the ones chained from their hands and feet, slaves, and niggaz are the ones in the club with tha gold chains”. We can argue both sides, that these words should be banned and at the same time, these words are neccessary. I belive it depends on the context of the text, if the words are used in a negitive manner or by fucked up rappers or sum gay r n b shit, then they should be limited, but if used truly by a true artist then the words should not be restricted.

Yeah your right he didn’t tech snitch but he decided to speak to the police and if he did give a statement he contradicts himself because on the 60 min he says he wouldn’t talk to the police. Cam isn’t the only rapper named by the smoking gun 50; Fab; and whole bunch They all give statements for the record. I agree wit homie they should just say there rappers period; and leave the ganster image to hollywood.

im 90% sure he didn’t go to the police but the police went to him. if this is even real. usually if u don’t flee the scene fast enough you get questioned on the spot.

but yeah, fake G’s is at an all time high. i feel embarrassed to have the knowledge i have from being raised on my own which was something i used to cherish because i grew up a lot quicker than most kats. Now it seems that all i did was a waste of time and its hard to tell if some1 is real now, cuz bitches lie like a mufucka. thats me.

real talk: i’m not w/all this STOP SNITCHIN bullshyt…n*ggas got this street code/g-code all fucked up…it needs to S-T-O-P.

      1) there is a difference between ‘civilians’ and ’soldiers’…each should stay separate and out of each other’s way…a ‘g’ gets NO stripes 4 fuckin w/a ‘civilian’ who is not a part of that ‘world’ and there4 has no other recourse if (s)he has been wronged other than go 2 the police (who are paid by civilian taxpayers 2 ‘protect and serve’)…so there can be NO retaliation against a çivilian who goes 2 the cops to handle something that the ’streets’ have done 2 him/her…that’s NOT snitchin’…period.

      2) if i see somebody shootin’ on my block w/as many kids and old ppl (all ‘civilians’) that live in my building–I’M FUCKIN TELLIN’…there is absolutely NO reason for ‘g’ shyt to spill-out in2 the ‘civilian’ world because there are enough ‘illegal spots’ where cats put in work that a real ‘g’ can find whomever s/he is looking 4 an handle it on ‘the low’…nobody else has 2 know or be involved…thats how ‘work’ used 2 be ‘put in’…the safety of our communities for our children/families was the single most important reason 4 the 4rmation of ‘gangs’ in the 1st place…wtf?!!

      3) the true definition of SNITCHIN’ is when YOU ACTUALLY DO DIRT W/SOMEBODY ELSE and GET CAUGHT by police…then under questioning or interrogation you fold up/roll over on your patna when they ask you who you were with…the whole code on this shyt states that if you’re gonna do the crime–you’ve got 2 be prepared 2 do the time (ALONE) and not bring the homies/’g’s down w/you when you get caught.

THE ‘G’ CODE DOES NOT and NEVER WAS INTENDED 2 APPLY TO ‘CIVILIANS’…so, again, it does NOT apply 2 the 99.999% of ‘rappers’ talkin’ shyt nor 99.999% of ppl reading this–or any other blog (including myself).

now, with that said, if you just don’t like fuckin’ w/police because of what they’ve systematically/historically done to oppress and ‘occupy’ our communities…thats something else entirely and i feel that…i’ve been a constant target of police harassment/abuse of power/etc. since i became a teen-ager, i get it…but i now realize that as a 30+yr old voter/tax-payer (high-ass taxxxes @ that!!!)…I PAY THEIR FUCKIN’ SALARIES AND WILL GO TO CITY HALL TO FILE A COMPLAINT AND TALK SHYT IN A HEARTBEAT.

fuck that…we need 2 make our communities safe again by ANY /ALL means possible…yes, from ‘police abuse of power’ AND from ’street shyt’.

“It’s about business,” Giles says, “but it’s still also a code of ethics.”
“If I knew the serial killer was living next door to me?” Giles responds to a hypothetical question posed by Cooper. “I wouldn’t call and tell anybody on him — but I’d probably move. But I’m not going to call and be like, ‘The serial killer’s in 4E.’ “

WTF???? He lives in a mansion. Next is if your from the hood you damn well know there aren’t any serial killers in the hood; the question should had been a rapist or child molester at least something you’ll see in the hood. Serial Killers get the fuck outta here. Stop Snitchin applys to those who choose to live a certain life ex. If you get jammed up don’t snitch cause you’ll catch the Bullet Bullet!!!!

Isn’t it ironic that rappers who on a daily basis dry snitch on themselves about how much crime they commit are the pushing this stop snitching agenda. From my understanding snitching is a code of the streets for street people to abide by, if I am hustling and my man is hustling, if he gets caught he not supposed to give me up. It has nothing to do with me, a home owner, father, responsible citizen of my community rattin out some nigga hustling on my block bringing down my property values, fucking up my neighborhood.

I have no love for the police that brutalize and commit crime ( not lumping every police officer in this group ) but I also dont have any love for ignorant thugs that terrorize their own communities, the people that suffer are women and children.

    • BetOnBlack 4:31 am on April 24, 2007 Permalink | Reply

Wow…..The ignorance that Cam displays is astounding. I’m not even going to comment on his lack of intelligence because it’s very clear he’s not the sharpest knife in the kitchen. However, the staggering lack of self-respect and social awareness that many of these so-called ghetto celebs demonstrate is terrible.

To suggest that he wouldn’t assist the police in catching a serial killer speaks volumes about the way in which he was rasied and his lack of moral courage. He would rather play up to this crude stereotype of a drug dealing gangster with a rep to keep. Than stop a person from killing innocent people.

Busta is also a man who is weak and rather than help solve the murder of someone he claims to love like a brother, he would sooner say nothing so as not to jeopardise his finances and career.

We as a people are being let down by these black men, we are once again venturing into the role of “coons” who show no characterists, attributes or traits that rightly demonstrate our sense of morals, justice and intellect. Instead we portray ourselves as money hungry, chain wearing, face grinning sell out niggas (and I hate that word).

Shame on Cam and his type for allowing themselves to be shown as people with no backbone, no morals and worst of all no self respect.
