RIP Aaron Russo, he died last week. People need to wake up and check Ron Paul, he wants to get rid of the IRS and is for liberty and freedom for all. That second clip of Rummy is infuriating, its like the clip where Bush says he saw the first plane hit the towers on TV, when that wouldnt have been broadcast on any network. Check This:

Saggy jeans are a menace to society

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Another very important issue is cast to the forefront by some of your leaders. A couple of cities around the US have already outlawed saggy jeans, and now its about to hit Atlanta. Ill never get over the older generation trying to get on these useless issues because they feel embarassed or maybe just haters.

Ok, so we’ve all seen some people sagging jeans that made you want to throw up, but is this something we should be giving tickets for?

Actually, now that I think about it, we should take people to JAIL for sagging their jeans (sarcasm button broken)

After all it doe’s go well with all the jewelery they wear dont you think?. Stop discriminating against these young homosexuals. Let them where theyre pants with theyre drawers out. Its funny, the fad actually came from prison, and lets see. Who is in prison? . Men without women. Originally when a young man got ” turned out in prison”. AKA made to be some other mans “B#$@h he sagged his pants to show that he had been turned out. Sad but true story. You know its trendy to imitate convicts, nothing more cool then spending years with a bunch of men and no women. So they imitate what they want from life.

Sean Kingston Set To Play B.I.G.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

According to recent reports on Mediatakeout.com, J.R. Rotem’s “suicidal” protegee Sean Kingston is set to play the The Notorious B.I.G. in a new biopic.
“When I first heard about that movie, it was through management. They told me (and) I auditioned for it and I met with the director. I nailed it and he gave me a shot now at being in the movie.”, says Kingston.

I’m assuming Kingston will be playing the younger version of Biggie.. No word on who’s playing the ‘adult’ version of him, yet. My guess is they looking at Guerrilla Black. Remember him? He was signed with Czar Management (also Game’s mgmt)…Not sure if he still is. The similarities in their flow is almost spooky. Obviously, the lyrical content isn’t the same.. but I think he’d be the best fit for the job. Who do you guys think should play him? Or do some of you think there shouldn’t be a movie at all? ~Speed

    Talib Comes In At #2

Talib Kweli comes in this week in the number 2 spot with selling 60,000 copies in it’s first week. This is Talib’s first solo album to crack open the top ten. His album “Ear Drum” features UGK and Norah Jones among others. With Common coming in at number 1 his first week a couple of weeks ago, it looks as though hip-hop is headed in the right direction.

He Said Sadat X Is Wack???????

Yes people you are hearing this news and probably in shock as much as I am….Big DEE went on to say that Mos Def was better than Sadat….I dont know how he came with this decision but I respect his opinion….My opinion is… (More …)

    • gank 7:44 pm on August 29, 2007 Permalink | Reply

i can’t quote any sadat x off the top of da dome, but his flow is unique because of 3 things, 1. location, eastcoast influence, topics that journalistic type of rhymescheme, you were actually the news reporter of your hood so you had to speak clear concise and stay on task. it was all about “focus” man! and mostly the focus wasn’t on you or how much you had, that was very early in the stage of nyc/eastcoast style of braggadocio. and quite frankly we (fans)and they (emcees) 2. era. the time he came up in was ripe for that type of style and that type of flow, which prodigy of mobb deep made infamous it’s a fighting the rhyme style., in which he goes against the flow of the beat. but you see prodigy came after sadat x. so prodigy took it to the next step. now that doesn’t make prodigy a better emcee, just that he progressed a step. and 3. voice. sadat x has a voice that’s recognizeable anyplace. it might be due to its nasal sounding quality, but it’s inmistakable. prior to sadat x, another hiphop icon who flowed in that similar style but was a little more erratic is kool keith. now as far as mos being better than x? i wouldn’t say better, just different. sadat rhymes are more of a conversation with the listener, whereas mos is more of telling a story.

Lyrically dude is respectable, but his corny ass approach to each of his projects is what turns heads off to him.
remember when dude painted his face white and tried to push
that whole “the rise of Stan” when he had beef with eminem?
He picks the wackest shit to ride on which in turns takes away from the overall feel of his songs and that 1,000 bar
joint is what?? – 59 minutes of left over shit out of his notebook!! – the song has no direction and I got bored like 6 minutes into the shit.I think lyrically HE SMASHED LL cool J when they battled but mentally and emotionally he lost because he’s been on some bullshit eversince. The gift is he’s lyrical…the curse is he’s one dimensional –
so if you heard Second round K.O or his verse on Gone till
November then you basically heard his whole career.

J Hood is definitely hot. I’ve been a fan of the LOX since they were with Diddy and always have been. But right is right and wrong is wrong. I’m not going to say Hood is trash, b/c he’s not. I agree with the other dude, they were hindering him. Why would they not let his album drop??That’s crazy. I always look forward to his verse b/c I love his style. They’re not trash and neither is he. Things didn’t work out. That’s life; but you can’t deny facts. That boy has A LOT of talent. This game just isn’t right. Everybody want to take from the next man instead of helping him – even when they know what it feels like. I hope he blows for sure!!!!!!

Eve says, “Bush Is An Asshole.”

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

In the September issue of Blender Magazine, Eve dishes on whether or not she felt if troop surges are hot for the magazine’s Hot Report 2007. “Not hot at all,” she responded. “Bush is an asshole. We need to be bringing those kids home.”
When asked presidential candidate she prefered, Eve said, “That’s a hard one, ’cause I’m a double minority. Do I go black, or do I go woman? I think the fact that we’re at a point where both Hillary and Obama can be running, that’s hot.”

    Cassidy Vs Gillie

After carefully watchin this video I have come to conclusion that this is another case of that “Fuck you cus you aint take me out the hood” syndrome….Same shit Brave Hearts was on….And let me lay down the law….Cassidy would bite a whole out of Gillie’s back if they battled…..

And oh yea I recognize Gillie been in the game for a minute and he does have some skill…..But i’m puttin my entire check on Cass…L

They do that shit when you change your life. But one thing cass needs to stop acting like he a wild ass nigga running the street still because he not. How long has Gillie been rapping again? I think for what it worth Cassidy “Barry Reese” could have handled that situation a lot better. I don’t necessarily blame Gillie for going at him that way, it’s all a respect thing. People want to be respected and Gillie deserves that. Now even more important are the messages that are conveyed by this so called “Gangsta” age of people. The world is less than one percent “Gangsta” and 99.4% percent followers. That being said this type of myspace, blog, and video gangster breathes moer pussy into the air. I just think that while it’s entertaining to see, it’s all really stupid. Black people, more importantly black men need to make some serious changes.

A Regular Day Up In The Bronx….NY

This is from 2003….Peep how it was just a spit session just for GP….And do believe me thats how it is on some everyday shit for alot of MC’s ….Thats why NY rappers are so lyrical…Dudes would eat sleep and sh** with a pen and a pad…Not sayin other rappers in other areas didn’t do the same but back then an MC would write the rhyme without the beat…and then mold the beat around the rhyme….Nowadays it’s bass ackwards they write the rhyme after listening to the beat and mold the rhyme around the beat…which takes away the lyrical independence because if you notice now if you take the beat away on most tracks…The lyrics sound garbage…But thats just my analogy….L

    • Anonymous 11:58 am on August 26, 2007 Permalink | Reply

these dudes need to eat sleep and sh** with a pen, pad, and a school book. I dont care how lyrical you are, the music is not going to sell. and stop tryin to blame it on the south. 50 cent sell sh** loads of records. Maybe yall dudes need to stop been so “lyrical” and just make the music that the people want to hear because if you don’t the labels are not going to sign you. Yall should of know when David Banner talk sh** to yall dudes…… by the way the SOUTH IS RUNNING HIP HOP DONT HATE

      @Anon

Take it easy. Dude was stating one opinion and giving a history lesson.

Dont think because the south is “running hiphop” (you seen soundscan lately?) that it wont leave the south sooner than later.

There is lyrical rap, rap you bump in the car, rap you bump in the club, rap for your ipod e.t.c. There are people that like different styles, so lets co-exist.

..yeah ill say it again, we need balance. Peace.

#1 You are a dumbass. It’s not about money. It’s about expressing yourself and saying what comes from the heart. It’s involves soul, not a cup of yak and codine. This shit right here is as raw as bdk.

    • Anonymous 10:06 pm on August 26, 2007 Permalink | Reply

im # 1 yall can say whatever yall want but if i wouldn’t have said that, most of yall probably wouldnt have even commented on the video… to me it seems like yall not showin yourselves any love unless somebody mentions the south.

Big ups to e-brooks for that comment too.

Hip Hop has changed a bit and now the beat is what drives the young crowd and that’s basically it. The youth buy’s into this new form of Rap and so a rapper like Lord Finesse aren’t going to be received as well as the dudes who sing’s Aunt Jackie (Harlem World lookin silly). But Finesse get’s his prop’s over here and that what matter’s.

      @MiamiDaze

I see where you coming from, but for the sake of argument, Hiphop in its earliest days in the bronx was not about lyricism. It was about saying what ever sounds good over the beat just like alot of these south cats are doing right now.

It could be that the south is doing hiphop closer to what it was at its birth. Lets be real, them cats in the late 70s and early 80s werent saying anything much different than what these southern “rappers” are saying. In fact southern rap today is more lyrical than rap was in the bronx in the late 70s, early 80s.

But Im from 90s hiphop so Im all about lyrical hiphop too, but I give beats just as much weight as the MCs so a really good beat is worth alot. Peace.

    • Boogz 9:28 pm on August 27, 2007 Permalink | Reply

^^^I respect your opinion Fanatic…However if you take away the MC and leave just the beat..It might not be hip-hop….If you take the beat away…

Rap music is in this state because what??? Corporations found a way to market and have acquired an audiance to market it to. So southern consumers are actually buying the music. If we were actually buying the music Lord Finesse would still be in the stores selling at $15.

Bootleggers was a major issue that became an epidemic as well as one of the main contributers to the down fall of the demand of the lyrical rapper..Rappers seen it coming as so

    • HHFanatic 10:05 pm on August 27, 2007 Permalink | Reply

      @Boogz

Yeah the corporation issue goes back to my thing with balance. The corporations are going for the easiest music that sells, and thats the ish with good beats and no lyricism. That leaves out the lyrical shit that some of us want to hear. Its fucked up, but its not necessarily a reason to crucify ALL the pop-rap thats on the radio right now.

I think the whole thing will correct itself. People are tired of just pop-rap, nobody is buying that ish anymore, and the balance will come back eventually.

The truth about this track is that the skillz is top shelf but for a 2003 track it’s produced like a 1993 JB based track.
Somebody please chop this with a new beat, put it up on youtube. Then we can discuss it.
would be cool to hear this with some Kanye or gank on of Common’s new beats
Truth is they flow like it’s 93 also but it’s still damn good. Can’t knock the skillz.

Pras Says Lauryn Hill Is Bipolar

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

In a recent interview on AJ’s Playhouse on 93.3 FM in San Diego, former Fuggee member Pras stated that he felt Lauryn Hill was mentally ill and bipolar.
“Lauryn Hill is like to me the greatest artist in the last 25 or 30 years, but still -if you mentally ill, you mentally ill. I’m not no expert, but based on my professional opinion, she needs medication. I think it’s bipolar. The thing is, when you’re around someone like that that you love and grew up with, you don’t wanna believe that kind of behavior really exists. It seems so unreal.”
