most people are not really concerned with mic skills in the south they want some shit to ride to or bump in the club…..but stat is a beast but he will probably suffer the same fate as a killa mike(one of the most underrated in the whole game), not saying stat is on the level of KM but hell have to “dumb it down” to be acknowledged

Joell Ortiz said it best….”The Politics in the Game Driving me crazy like an Arab Cabby”. I sure Stat will do something big by the middle of 08….Because the whole “dance music” is getting on my nerves. A nigga like stat suffers but that lame solja boy (or however u spell his fucking name) with his bubble gum music…seems to sell??????? Things that make you go HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

    • Bronxbred 5:28 pm on September 6, 2007 Permalink | Reply

Just support Stat and any other emcee’s that show skills and creativity in their music. Soon the pendulum will swing in the direction of more diverse and talented artists instead of catering to the 106 & Park crowd. Most of the music on commercial radio and cable is geared toward six year olds to early twenties. Hip Hop heads with a knowledge of the history of the culture can’t and won’t support a large percentage of the talentless, gimmicky, “artists” of today. For all you ignant’ young bucks who wanna cry “hater”, just wait and see how history judges this era of “music”. Who remembers the 69 Boyz and 95 South with their Hip Hop classics!! Pun intended!!

It seems like the more dudes want Curtis to fail the more tracks he comes back with. Pretty soon “Curtis” will have to be a triple-cd because he’s already dropped about five songs so far. Fifty seems to be the most-talked about, most-influential artist in the game today. It appears there’s no gray area with how you feel about dude, either you love him or you hate him! Either you drink Vitamin Water or you drink Snapple! It’s that simple!

This hardcore sound and its affiliated gangsta attitude connected with Grease, who then found himself immersed in the culture after forming a neighborhood group called N.I.B. It wasn’t long before he found himself producing beats, looking to the aggressive sounds of the Bomb Squad and Dr. Dre for influence. By the end of the 1990s, Grease had collaborated with such prominent New York rap artists as DMX, the LOX, and Nas.

    MINZ

    (South Jamaica Queens, NY)

MINZ was originally Criminal Minds, then they broke it down to MINZ in 1995 which stands for Masters of Intellect that have Niggas Zoning. MINZ consists of two memebers, L.D & RED MONEY.

MINZ grew up on the same block in South Jamaica Queens.Antonio (LD) & Tariq ( RED) started rhyming together in 1993 on Lakewood Ave. At the time they were hustling and just toyin’ around withthe flows. People around the way were always telling them that they were “nice” with their rhymes. In 1994 they formed MINZ and started going to DEF’s studio on Archer Avenue in Queens with producer Brandon (Beat Don) to start recording songs.

Their first song was called “DAMN”. The song got a good response so they went on to record several more songs. Buddy from the group INTRO(who is LD’s nephew) entered MINZ into a showcase at Camie Hall in New York City. The showcase went very well and several labels were impressed. Since they were not focused and continued their streetlife, MINZ was at a standstill. (More …)

Stanley Benton (born July 24, 1979), better known as Stat Quo, is an Atlanta-based African-American rapper signed to Eminem’s Shady Records and Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment. He has been generating mixtape buzz since 2002.  He is also a part of Grown Man Music, a record label he founded with LT Moe. Benton attended University of Florida, where he majored in economics, before pursuing a musical career. His debut album Statlanta was expected to be released in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 but has inexplicably been repeatedly pushed back. Stat Quo is also featured on Young Buck’s Straight Outta Cashville, Eminem’s Eminem Presents The Re-Up and on the track “Spend Some Time” on Eminem’s Encore. Stat has appeared on tracks with artists such as Jermaine Dupri,The Alchemist, The Game, Disturbing tha Peace and Chamillionaire.  —–  (Personal Info From Wikipedia) (More …)
