MINZ was originally Criminal Minds, then they broke it down to MINZ in 1995 which stands for Masters of Intellect that have Niggas Zoning. MINZ consists of two memebers, L.D & RED MONEY.
MINZ grew up on the same block in South Jamaica Queens.Antonio (LD) & Tariq ( RED) started rhyming together in 1993 on Lakewood Ave. At the time they were hustling and just toyin’ around withthe flows. People around the way were always telling them that they were “nice” with their rhymes. In 1994 they formed MINZ and started going to DEF’s studio on Archer Avenue in Queens with producer Brandon (Beat Don) to start recording songs.
Their first song was called “DAMN”. The song got a good response so they went on to record several more songs. Buddy from the group INTRO(who is LD’s nephew) entered MINZ into a showcase at Camie Hall in New York City. The showcase went very well and several labels were impressed. Since they were not focused and continued their streetlife, MINZ was at a standstill. (More …)
